『わたしの自由について〜SEALDs 2015〜』
In 2015, 70 years after the World War II, Japan was about to undergo a drastic change.
Liberal Democratic Party led by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, handed over the new security-related legislation which 180-degree turns the current Constitution and enables the execution of collective self-defence.
Towards this revision of the Peace Constitution, the Japanese, said as the most politically unconcerned people in the world, especially the young generation came to feel a great sense of danger.
Amidst this situation, Students Emergency Action for Liberal Democracy-s (SEALDs) was formed in Tokyo and started a series of rallies against the Security Bills in front of the National Diet building every Friday since June 2015.
Their actions received numerous support and sympathy through various media including social media, and instantly spread throughout Japan beyond generations.
This film focuses on the first six months of social movements gropingly started by several young students.
「終わったなら、はじめるぞ」
2015年。第二次世界大戦以後、70年間、平和国家として歩んできた日本の安全保障が、大きく変わろうとしていた。
安倍晋三首相率いる自民党は、これまでの憲法解釈を180度転換し、集団的自衛権の行使容認を含む新たな安全保障関連法案を国会に提出した。
日本国憲法第9条で定められた、戦争放棄に反するこの政府の動きに、世界一政治に無関心といわれた日本国民、特に若い世代が大きな危機感を持った。
東京を中心に立ち上がった、学生団体「SEALDs」(シールズ : Students Emergency Action for Liberal Democracy-s / 自由と民主主義のための学生緊急行動）は、2015年6月から毎週金曜日に国会議事堂前で安保関連法案に対する抗議活動を開始した。
その動きはメディアやSNSを通して幅広い共感を呼び、世代や信条を越え、「デモ」は瞬く間に日本全土に広がった。
この映画は、数名の若者たちが手探りではじめた社会運動の、半年間の記録である。
